Dr. Lucas is board-certified and has completed education and training in health science, urology and clinical research from institutions such as Kalamazoo College, Rush Medical College, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, and the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Lucas is fellowship-trained in minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgeries. He specializes in genitourinary cancers, particularly kidney, adrenal and prostate cancers. He also specializes in laparoscopic donor nephrectomies for renal transplants, reconstructive procedures for the upper urinary tract including pyeloplasty, and minimally invasive kidney stone treatments. He completed his urology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and his fellowship in endourology/laparoscopy/robotics at Indiana University.
His notable involvement in the community includes providing volunteering services in various programs such as tutoring, providing health care services to homeless shelters and neighborhood clinics, as well as participation in student associations and more. He has submitted several abstracts for the World Congress of Endourology, written an extensive amount of print and electronic publications and journals and received many achievements and awards.
