Narrative Bio

My long-term research interest is to understand molecular and biological signaling pathways contributing to prostate cancer metastasis. My post doctoral study focused on the chemopreventive effects of natural compounds on proliferative signaling pathways on prostate cancer growth. Subsequently, I expanded my research into prostate cancer bone metastasis with emphasis on understanding biological significance of chemokine receptor expression and signaling pathways contributing to prostate cancer bone metastasis. Our current emphasis is on how oncogenic signaling pathways drive the expression of chemokine receptor gene expression in tumor cells and in this context we found that recently identified androgen responsive Ets transcription factor fusion genes expressed in prostate cancer patients regulates chemokine receptor expression in prostate cancer cells.
